Supplies - Silk Embroidery Threads

I love stitching with silk threads. Recently I decided to treat myself to a couple of packs from Patricia Wood at Mulberry Silks. I chose one pack from the Connoisseur range - these packs have 19 spools of pure silk thread in various thickness, but in a distinct colour scheme. This one is called 'Driftwood', it makes me think of old bark with lichen, forest undergrowths... I'm saving it for that special texture project towards the end of my City&Guilds course.

 

I was browsing Patricia's website for a long time, there are so many different packs and colour themes to choose from! In the end I couldn't resist and ordered one of the mini topics as well. It is called 'Away in a Manger' and I love the way these colours have a rich glow whilst remaining both subtle and sophisticated - I think a field of French knots stitched with these would look beautiful, especially in combinations with some neutral slightly thicker matt or textured threads!
